Exciting news! Granite is having a 50th Anniversary Pin Design contest and we need YOU! Check out the info below to participate! We hope to see an entry (or two!) from you!

This year, 2011, marks the 50th anniversary for the Seattle Granite Curling Club. To celebrate, we would like to produce a commemorative club pin. Any member with a creative side is encouraged to participate in the contest. The time frame is short, so don’t procrastinate!

See the flyer by clicking here and review the basic guidelines for your pin design. The deadline to submit, will be midnight March 25th. Each participant will be allowed up to two entries. Please submit entries electronically. Scans of sketches are acceptable. (By submitting a design, you agreeing to let it become property of the Seattle Granite Curling Club.)

We will set up a way for members to vote for their favorite design, once all the entries are collected.

If you have any questions, please contact Miyo Konno (Contest Coordinator).

Attention all GCC Members! We need you!

Over the course of the 2010-2011 curling season, the GCC will be celebrating it’s 50th Anniversary as a club! We’re very excited to have made it half a century, and to celebrate, we are publishing a memory book of pictures, stories, quotes and anecdotes that document our club’s 50 years and beyond. Our goal is to create a project of lasting value, that reflects how much the Granite Curling Club, curling and our community mean to us!

This blog will serve as the memory book’s sister. We’ll be posting pictures, stories, quotes, videos and articles about the GCC and it’s members, here! This blog will also serve to bring you news on the GCC’s 50th Anniversary celebrations: our 50th Anniversary Banquet scheduled for Summer 2011, the upcoming GCC 50th Pin Design Contest and more!

All members and past members are welcome and encouraged to contribute their stories, memories, pictures and memorabilia to the project, and we will do our best to include as much of it as we are able. To learn more about the project and how to contribute, visit the links below:

We want to gather the majority of our stories and memorabilia by October 30th, 2010 and we want YOU to be involved! Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you!
